    Cynthia Blackwell Artist’s Biography:

    Cynthia Lynn Blackwell is an artist producing ceramics and
    watercolor paintings. She has been delighted to create art since childhood and went on to teach art for her whole career. Outside of her classroom, Cynthia spends her spare time in the forest and waterways of Venango County with her family and friends. With these two influences, she loves creating beautiful works of art that reflect nature.

    Cynthia has been an Art Teacher for 35 years, in Dade County – Florida, Pittsburgh Public Schools – Pennsylvania, and now in Tionesta – Pennsylvania, where she brings creative opportunities to her students of ALL ages. As an art educator, she inspires her students through exciting lessons, exploring a variety of mediums and developing partnerships with museums and art centers.

    Cynthia has joined the TRANSIT ART GALLERY GIFTS in 2022 to sell her pottery and to offer Pottery classes to the Oil Region residents. Cynthia has a private Pottery Workshop in President Village, Venango County, to create her personal work and host classes. Cynthia has earned a Bachelor in Fine Art from Slippery Rock University; Art Education K-12 and Elementary K-6 Certifications from Florida International University; and the National Board Certification:
    Art Education – Early Adolescence to Young Adult, 2011.
    Cynthia is an award-winning teacher and leader with the Gold Star Leadership Award: 2003; Pittsburgh Public Schools; Excellence in Teaching, Roy A. Hunt Award: 2003; Fulbright Hayes Group Fellowship Award 2009; Pennsylvania Art Education Association (PAEA) Middle School Art Educator of the Year
    2011 and PAEA Regional Leadership Award – 2018.
