“The Lyrical Landscape” an exhibition of recent paintings by CJ Hurley, opens on September 8th from 6pm-9pm, at the Graffiti Gallery 228 Seneca St. Oil City, PA 16301. “The Lyrical Landscape” is a series of paintings that view nature as sacred, portraying that underlying sanctity with idealized images of profound beauty and consequence. Throughout the duration of the exhibition, there will be a series of education and community engagement programs, including: an artist’s talk & painting demonstration, “The Romantic Legacy” lecture on Romanticism, and a screening of the documentary short, “From Dystopia to Utopia: The Artistic Visions of CJ Hurley.” Adult programs will be free and open to the public. Free kids’ program will also be offered through the schools. Please note the new location of the Gallery. It has moved out of the National Transit Building and is a few doors down on the same side of the street. The Exhibit will be open through Saturday, October 14th on Wednesdays from 10am-2pm, Fridays from 2pm-6pm, and Saturdays from 10am-2pm. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
