Forget Me Nots & Spring Buds

Rachel Wheeler grew up in Oil City and has been drawing and painting since she was a kid. She has always known deep in her heart that one day she would be a professional artist and thanks to a supportive family, she has pursued her art as a career over the past nine years. Rachel graduated with a bachelors in studio art in 2017 from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA which is where she had her first group exhibit. Since then she has received awards for her talents in multiple art shows each year including Best in Show during the 2020 Latrobe Art Center Open Show, and First Place in the Professional Oil & Acrylic Division during the Oil Heritage Art Show in 2022.

After living in Latrobe for a few years and creating custom art for her clients, Rachel relocated to her home town in 2020 to grow her family and continue to explore her love for oil painting. She is continuously inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds and the dynamic, supportive arts community in Oil City.
